An Oaks Club at Valencia Wedding: Amber and Robert's Editorial Day on the Fairway

A real Oaks Club at Valencia wedding in Santa Clarita: a magenta plaid suit, a triangle arch on the fairway, a bride swinging a golf club in her gown, and a fog-wrapped final kiss.

The Oaks Club at Valencia is our backyard, minutes from the studio, and photographing a wedding here always feels like home turf. Amber and Robert used it the way we always hope couples will: boldly. He wore a magenta plaid suit. She wore a modern slit gown with a detachable cape veil. The arch was a triangle dressed in pampas. And yes, there was golf.

August 2020 kept the guest list intimate, which turned the day into something closer to an editorial session with a wedding inside it, exactly the kind of creative freedom we love.

A Magenta Suit and a Modern Gown

Robert's magenta plaid three-piece deserves its own credit line, photographed buttoning up against the clubhouse stucco like a menswear campaign. Amber's prep ran equally editorial: pearl-crusted heels, a plunging modern gown with a thigh-high slit, and portraits under the veil in hard light and shadow.

When couples bring personal style this strong, our job is simply to light it like it deserves.

A Triangle Arch on the Fairway

The ceremony stood on the fairway lawn beneath a triangle arch woven with pampas and white blooms, petals lining the aisle and the Santa Clarita hills rolling out behind. Vows were exchanged with the couple's little ones playing in the petals at their feet, the kind of detail an intimate wedding makes room for.

The hero image of this story came right after: Amber's cape veil streaming from the arch's peak under a hard blue summer sky, the fairway empty behind them. Geometry, wind, and light, the whole brief in one frame.

Golf, Obviously

You do not marry at a golf club and skip the golf. Amber took a full swing in her wedding gown, form intact, and Robert launched one down the range in magenta plaid at sunset. These are the frames their friends will still be sharing in twenty years.

We also stole a dip kiss under the towering clouds and a portrait pair on the fairway as the light went gold. An intimate timeline means portrait time nobody has to ration.

A Kiss in the Fog

The night closed with the frame this couple was built for: a kiss wrapped in drifting fog and warm light, magenta suit against white tulle, cinematic to the last minute. Small wedding, big images. That was the assignment, and Santa Clarita's home course delivered it.

For couples considering The Oaks, this is the takeaway: the property's light after six o'clock, on the fairway and the stone staircase, is as good as anything in the valley.
