Julian Garsdean and Sylva Kordab created a wedding that moved from clean editorial portraiture into an ornate reception at Republic in Sherman Oaks. Julian's sculptural gown and long veil gave the early photographs a fashion-forward tone.
Blush florals, crystal details, and layered lighting then transformed the celebration into a warmer, more decorative space for the ceremony and reception.
An Editorial Bridal Story
Julian's preparation portraits focus on the gown's pearl texture, off-the-shoulder shape, and the movement of her veil. Clean walls and architectural lines kept the frames modern.
Rather than crowding the images with details, we used light and negative space to let the dress define the opening sequence.
Portraits Beneath a Changing Sky
The couple's early portraits used an open terrace and a sky shifting between blue and gray. The simple horizon made the scale of Julian's veil especially visible.
A few black-and-white frames added a quieter counterpoint before the color and detail of the ceremony took over.
Blush Florals and Outdoor Vows
The ceremony brought in soft pink flowers, mirrored details, and a clear tent structure. Julian entered with family before joining Sylva for the vows.
The open sides preserved the daylight while the floral design created a sense of enclosure around the couple.
A Reception Designed for Movement
Inside Republic, chandeliers, reflective surfaces, and layered pink florals created a dramatic ballroom setting. The couple's entrance brought the room to its feet immediately.
Traditional music, dancing, and live fire effects kept the reception visually active through the final images.
