A Los Verdes Golf Course Wedding: Andrea and John at Sunset
A real wedding on the bluffs of Rancho Palos Verdes: a windswept ceremony arch, a travel-themed cake with a map tier, and the sunset that makes Los Verdes one of the best-value coastal venues in Los Angeles.

Ask Los Angeles wedding photographers to name the best sunset in the county and a lot of us will give you the same answer: the knoll at Los Verdes Golf Course, high above the Pacific in Rancho Palos Verdes. Andrea and John's July wedding is the proof. Every frame from their last hour of daylight looks painted.
They found us on Instagram four months before the date, chose to skip a first look, and asked us to build the portrait plan around the evening instead. That single decision, trusting the sunset, shaped one of our favorite galleries of that year.
Elegant, Modern, and Windswept
Andrea wore a sleek boat-neck gown with long sleeves, modern and architectural, and John went classic white-tie. The ceremony site sat on the bluff with a single draped arch, and the Palos Verdes wind did what it always does, which is why we love it: the drape and Andrea's cathedral veil spent the whole ceremony in motion against a sky stacked with storm light.
Wind is not a problem at Los Verdes. Wind is the venue's signature. We photograph into it deliberately, and the veil images it produces are ones no still-air ballroom can match.

Petals on the Lawn
Andrea came down the white-petal aisle on her father's arm with a plum and lavender bouquet, guests standing on the lawn with the course rolling green behind them. The ring exchange happened in that same soft, cloud-filtered light, which is the quiet advantage of a coastal July date: the marine layer works as a giant diffuser until the sun drops beneath it.

The Sunset Hour
And then the sun dropped beneath the clouds. We took Andrea and John out to the knoll for twenty minutes, and the sky delivered everything: the hero frame with the sun melting into the ocean, and the silhouette with her veil lifting on the wind like a flame. These images are why we tell every Los Verdes couple the same thing, protect the last forty five minutes of light at all costs. Dinner can wait. The sun will not.
Our first-hand Los Verdes Golf Course venue guide maps exactly where the light lands through the evening, and why this venue delivers coastal drama at a price most bluff-top properties cannot touch.

A Map on the Cake
The reception told their story in details: a purple-washed ballroom, and a cake with an entire tier painted as a world map, topped with figures of the two of them, cat included. Travel-themed weddings can drift into clip art, but this one kept it elegant, one painted tier, one running theme, no gimmicks.
John ended the night carrying Andrea across the dance floor mid-song, which is exactly the kind of unscripted frame we stay late for. The couples who trust the evening always give us the best last images.
