A Four Seasons Westlake Village Wedding: Kyrene and Julio's Golden Celebration
A real wedding that moved from Saint Monica Catholic Church to a gold-drenched Four Seasons Westlake Village ballroom, with a parents' blessing, a cathedral veil under a giant fig tree, and a pagoda at dusk.

Some weddings are built around a single room. Kyrene and Julio's was built around a route: vows at Saint Monica Catholic Church, portraits in a garden pagoda at dusk, and a reception in the gold-lit grand ballroom of the Four Seasons Westlake Village. Three distinct worlds in one day, which is exactly the kind of logistics puzzle our team enjoys solving.
We met Kyrene and Julio at the Bellisima Bride bridal show a full year before their April date. What stood out from the start was how family-centered their plan was. Their family formal list was one of the most detailed we have ever received, and it included a request that told us everything: a blessing from her mother and father before the ceremony.
A Morning Built Around Family
Kyrene got ready with her mother beside her, reading together before the gown went on. Her mom wore gold beaded lace that could have walked a runway, and the two of them photographed like a matched set. Before the ceremony came the blessing, both parents with their hands over their daughter under the trees, a moment we treated with the same care as the vows themselves.
When couples ask us what makes wedding photography meaningful ten years later, it is these frames. The planned portraits age well. The blessings, the hand kisses, the letters read aloud age even better.

Vows Beneath the Dome at Saint Monica
Saint Monica Catholic Church gives a ceremony real architecture: the Romanesque stone facade, the golden half-dome over the altar, and side light that falls exactly where a photographer wants it. Kyrene's tulle mermaid gown and cathedral veil pooled down the marble steps as they said their vows, and we composed wide on purpose, because in a room like this the building is part of the story.
Outside afterward, the church's giant fig tree gave us the hero image of this post, Kyrene's lace-edged veil spread across its roots like it had grown there. If your ceremony venue has a signature tree, staircase, or facade, tell your photographer early. We scout for exactly these opportunities.

Dusk at the Pagoda
Between church and ballroom, we detoured to the Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks, minutes from the Four Seasons, where the Chinese pavilion sits over a koi pond against the evening sky. Ten minutes of portraits, one location most couples never think of, and a set of images that look nothing like anyone else's wedding gallery.
This is the advantage of hiring a team that knows the neighborhood around your venue, not just the venue itself. The Westlake Village corridor is dense with portrait locations, and we route couples through them based on the light, the season, and the minutes available.

White Orchids and Gold at the Four Seasons
The Four Seasons Westlake Village ballroom was dressed to the ceiling: towering centerpieces of white orchids and blush roses, mirrored tabletops, gold chairs and chargers, and a monogrammed white dance floor under crystal chandeliers. Before guests flooded in, we stole sixty seconds for a portrait of Kyrene and Julio alone in the finished room, a frame we make at almost every reception because the room never looks like that again.
The night ran on joy: a grand entrance parade, toasts that swung between laughter and tears, and a dance floor that did not thin out. Our first-hand Four Seasons Westlake Village venue guide covers how we photograph this property from suite to ballroom.
