A Callaway Vineyard Wedding: Tania and Cole in Temecula Wine Country

A real wedding at Callaway Vineyard and Winery in Temecula: a vine-draped breezeway, a barrel room portrait, a greenery ceremony arch over the rows, and a veil that flew in the golden-hour vineyard.

Temecula wine country is Southern California's quiet answer to Napa, rolling vines, warm stone, and light that turns gold an hour before sunset. Tania and Cole chose Callaway Vineyard and Winery for their June wedding, and the property gave us three completely different worlds to work in: a vine-covered breezeway, a candlelit barrel room, and a greenery arch set right over the rows.

A vineyard wedding is a photographer's dream for one simple reason: the venue is already beautiful in every direction. The job becomes knowing which corner to use at which hour, and Callaway rewards that knowledge all day long.

Lace, Greenery, and a Vine-Draped Walk

Tania wore an illustrated-lace ballgown with long sleeves, the kind of dress that reads as couture in close-up and as classic from across a room. Her bouquet was loose and green, echoing the vines, and her bridesmaids stood in soft grey.

We made the hero image in Callaway's signature breezeway, where grapevines climb an open trellis overhead and filter the light into something soft and green. It is one of the most photogenic first-look spots in Temecula, and Tania and Cole had it to themselves.

The Barrel Room

Every winery wedding deserves a barrel-room portrait, and Callaway's is a beauty: a long wall of stacked oak glowing under warm light. We photographed Cole there in his navy tuxedo, and the room did exactly what it always does, wrapped him in that amber winery light no studio can fake.

The barrel room is also where we ended the night, and the reception frames there carry the same warmth. It is the heart of the property, and we make sure every couple gets time in it.

Vows Over the Vines

The ceremony happened at a full greenery arch set on the lawn with the vineyard falling away behind it. Tania came down the aisle on her father's arm, they kissed under the arch with the rows and the hills stretching out behind them, and the recessional turned into a shower of petals and cheers.

An outdoor vineyard ceremony asks a photographer to balance a bright sky against green shade and keep the couple glowing through both. Get it right and the whole ceremony looks lit on purpose, because it was.

A Winery Reception

As the light dropped we brought Tania and Cole back inside for a first dance lit like a dream, string lights and lens flare wrapping around them on the floor. A winery reception has a built-in warmth that most ballrooms spend a fortune trying to imitate.

Callaway is one of the most complete wedding properties in Temecula, breezeway, barrel room, vineyard, and lawn all within a short walk, and it is exactly the kind of venue we love building a full photography day around.
