A Calamigos Ranch Pavilion Wedding: Gina and Alonso Under the Oaks
A real Calamigos Ranch wedding with dramatic bridal preparation, an oak-grove ceremony, a light-filled Pavilion reception, and portraits beneath the birch trees.
Gina and Alonso's Calamigos Ranch wedding used the property exactly as it photographs best: intimate rooms for the morning, a ceremony beneath the trees, and a reception that kept the surrounding landscape visible as the day turned into night.
The legacy gallery already had a strong narrative order, so we preserved its movement from details and preparation through the ceremony, Pavilion, woodland portraits, and dance floor.
Details and Dramatic Preparation
Blue shoes, rings, stationery, and greenery opened the story on warm wood. From there, Gina's preparation portraits moved into deeper shadow, using mirrors and a circular light to create frames that felt more cinematic than conventional bridal-suite coverage.
Her wedding party gathered in black, giving the group photographs a clean visual rhythm before everyone moved outside into the softer colors of the ranch.
The Wedding Party Beneath the Trees
The first portraits outside placed Gina and Alonso among the oaks, with the wedding party arranged in dark green and black around them. The woodland setting softened the formal clothing and made the group feel connected to the ceremony space waiting nearby.
We kept the direction simple and let the tree canopy build the composition. Calamigos has enough texture already, so the strongest portraits often come from giving people room to settle into the setting.
Vows in the Oak Grove
The ceremony aisle ran through layered greenery and white florals, with afternoon light filtering between the branches. Gina entered through a bright opening in the trees before joining Alonso beneath a floral installation that felt native to the grove.
During the vows, the changing light moved across the guests and ceremony space. Working with it rather than flattening it preserved the atmosphere that made the site feel private and alive.
The Pavilion and the Last Portraits
The Pavilion reception opened in pale linen, gold chairs, and greenery, allowing the surrounding landscape to remain part of the room. We photographed the space before guests entered, then returned to the woods with Gina and Alonso for the long-train portrait that became the hero.
The final photographs move back inside the celebration. The couple's dance floor portrait holds the energy close, ending the story with movement after the stillness of the trees.
