Los Angeles Wedding Photographer
Cinematic, editorial photography for couples who believe their wedding day deserves images that endure.
Fifteen Years of Los Angeles Weddings
Los Angeles isn’t one place, it’s a hundred distinct worlds stitched together by coastline and canyon. For fifteen years we’ve photographed love stories across all of it: the bluffs of Malibu, the vineyards of the Santa Monica Mountains, the grand ballrooms downtown, and the desert light beyond. Quiet observation, precise light, and frames that carry the weight of your day for generations.

Valencia, California, Our First Home
Michael Anthony Photography began in Valencia, in the heart of the Santa Clarita Valley, and our original West Coast studio still stands there, on Huntington Lane. Fifteen years and more than a thousand weddings later, greater Los Angeles remains the market that trained our eye: the marine layer that burns off Malibu by noon, the way a downtown cathedral swallows light, the exact minute the sun drops behind the Santa Monica Mountains.
Those years earned the recognition, PPA Master Photographer, twice named the #1 wedding photographer in the United States (2019 and 2021), weddings documented across nine countries. They also opened a second studio in McKinney, Texas. But Los Angeles is where it began, and we photograph here every season. The proof is in the portfolio.

Los Angeles Wedding Photos, and the World Beyond
Fifteen frames from across the whole portfolio, Malibu’s golden hour and downtown landmarks beside the destination work this studio grew up on. Every image opens full-frame; the complete library lives in the portfolio.
Los Angeles light raised this studio. Fifteen years of chasing it down the coast taught us everything we know about a wedding day.
Michael Anthony Studios · Est. Valencia, CaliforniaWhat an LA Wedding Day Looks Like
Every Los Angeles wedding we photograph is planned long before the first frame. The city rewards preparation, its light, its traffic, and its locations all behave better when someone has done this a thousand times.

Before the Day
We walk your venue whenever we can, study where the light falls at your ceremony time, and build a photography timeline with your planner. Location permits, a real consideration in LA, get flagged early, so nothing on your day depends on luck.

Chasing the Light
On the coast, golden hour is brief and the sun sets over the water, so portraits are planned to the minute. Canyons, courtyards, and downtown ballrooms each get their own lighting plan, and full professional lighting is always in the car.

On the Day
Quiet documentary coverage of the real moments, punctuated by short, beautifully directed portrait sessions. A second photographer is available, and standard on our flagship collection, so the aisle and the reaction are both in the frame.

Across Greater Los Angeles
The coast first: we photograph weddings in Malibu, Calamigos Ranch, the vineyard canyons, the bluffs above El Matador, down through Santa Monica and the beach cities to the Palos Verdes peninsula. Inland, the estates of Beverly Hills, the arches and gardens of Pasadena, and the ballrooms and cathedrals of Downtown Los Angeles, rooms like Vibiana, are home ground.
North of the city sits our home valley, Santa Clarita and Valencia, where the studio began, and to the west, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, and the coastline through Ventura up to Santa Barbara. South, Orange County weddings from Newport Beach to Laguna Beach and Dana Point are all within standard coverage, no travel fee anywhere in Southern California. Marrying farther afield? We’ve documented weddings in nine countries; start with our destination weddings page.
Los Angeles Wedding FAQ
Which Los Angeles venues do you photograph?
We've shot across the city's best, Vibiana, Calamigos Ranch, Hummingbird Nest, Greystone Mansion, Trump National, The Mission Inn, and many more. Explore our LA venue guides for galleries and photographer's notes from each.
You have a studio in Texas now, do you still photograph Los Angeles weddings?
Yes. Michael Anthony Photography began in Valencia, and our original West Coast studio remains at 26007 Huntington Lane in the Santa Clarita Valley, alongside our second studio in McKinney, Texas. Los Angeles is where this studio learned its craft, and we photograph LA weddings every season, the same artistry, and no travel fee within Southern California.
Do you travel within Southern California?
Yes, greater Los Angeles, the South Bay, the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Orange County, and Palm Springs are all within our coverage, with no travel fee.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples reach out twelve to eighteen months ahead. We take a limited number of weddings each year, so prime dates go early.
How do you plan the timeline around golden hour?
We build the photography timeline around the light. On the coast that means portraits timed to the minute before the sun drops into the Pacific; in the canyons and downtown it means working the shade lines and the city lights. You'll get a light-first timeline recommendation as soon as you book, coordinated with your planner.
Do Los Angeles locations require photography permits?
Many do, state beaches, city parks, and landmarks like Greystone Mansion each carry their own permitting rules and fees. Fifteen years of LA weddings have taught us which locations typically require them and how long approvals tend to take, and we raise it early in planning so there are no surprises on the day.
Do you photograph at private estates and villas?
Yes, we love a private-estate wedding. We scout the light, plan the timeline, and bring full professional lighting so a backyard or villa looks every bit as cinematic as a grand venue.
Can you shoot a multicultural or multi-day celebration?
Absolutely. From a sangeet to a tea ceremony to a full weekend, we've photographed many cultural traditions across LA and tailor coverage and a second photographer to your entire celebration.
What does a Los Angeles wedding photographer cost?
Every wedding we take is a tailored, full-day commission, so we share current collections and starting points directly rather than posting a one-size price, how investment works is laid out on our investment page, and we send the complete guide when you inquire. Most couples choose full-day coverage, and albums and wall art are designed together after the wedding, so your images end up somewhere better than a hard drive.
Do you offer wedding films as well as photography?
Yes, we photograph and film a select number of weddings each year, which means one team, one timeline, and a photographer and filmmaker who never work against each other. Recent work is on our films page.
