Vintage Wedding Photoshoot | Maya and Tim

We wanted to share this whimsical love story shoot with the future Mr. and Mrs. Maya and Tim. We wanted to put a shoot together to provide inspiration to brides out there on how to make their wedding fantasies come true. We partnered with multiple wedding professionals in order to create a vision that would be inspiring to brides out there looking to make their wedding unique and creative, while still keeping with the trends and styles that are important today. We envisioned a romantic shabby chic theme that would inspire future brides. We chose a color palette of bright pastels, focusing on blush and mint, two colors which have been very popular amongst our brides!!

When we were envisioning the shoot, we drew inspiration from SMP and other publications. We contacted Sandy from Treasures of the Trunk (who is just darling) in Santa Clarita, CA. Sandy specializes in providing rustic, antiqued furniture pieces to brides looking to style their upcoming weddings. The pieces we were able to obtain were unique, and provided us with some great ideas focusing on the romantic theme we were looking for.

Bonnie from Peachy Keen Events in Westlake Village, CA provided custom, hand made invitations and stationary for our shoot. Bonnie makes custom invitations for wedding couples that are absolutely fabulous. When we told her we were planning a whimsical, romantic styled shoot, she went to work and produced gorgeous invitations which are a great way for brides to convey the personality of their wedding from the moment their guests open their envelope.

AV Party Rentals in Newhall provided us with gorgeous china that fit the theme perfectly.

Our couple, Maya and Tim, are a real couple that will be tying the knot next August. We could already see the connection between them, and we can tell how much they absolutely love each other. Having the couple participate in the shoot before their actual wedding day helped them to gain inspiration for their own wedding next August. Here is what the bride had to say.

From the Bride:

“As Tim and I were in the midst of planning our wedding, we saw the casting call by Michael Anthony Photography looking for a real couple for the styled wedding shoot they were putting together. We thought it would be a great opportunity to get ideas for our own wedding, as well as help us get comfortable being photographed together! The shoot got us even more excited for our wedding day, as (the shoot) was a great deal of fun. It is amazing how just thinking a little bit outside the box can allow for such an amazing wedding scene to be created.

We are anxiously awaiting our big day, and really looking forward to celebrating our love and commitment with our closest family and friends. I am most excited to hear Tim’s vows, he’s such an amazing man with so much emotion, I don’t think there will be a dry eye in the house!!!!”

Maya’s gorgeous Maggie Sottero gown was provided by Cruz’s Bridal in Santa Clarita, CA. The gown featured a detachable train that allows a bride to skip the “hustle bustle” that usually takes place before a reception. The gown also featured a crystal brooch that really added to the romantic look we were going for. Cruz’s Bridal also provided the lovely crystal hairpiece that Maya was wearing to compliment her flowing curls. Maya’s attire perfectly complimented Tim’s vintage bow tie (which he was reluctant to wear, but after trying it on he realized he looked great in it!) Maya’s gorgeous makeup and hair was provided by hair and makeup artist Cristina Underwood.

Maya’s bouquet and the alter flowers were provided by Flower Finesse in Santa Clarita, CA. The owner, Marisol, chose lovely pastels that went with the theme perfectly!  Maya’s hair and Makeup was done by the amazingly talented Makeup by Cristina Underwood.

We chose a location that could be very similar to brides having any outdoor wedding. We used some basic sheer fabric to create an alter, and added a chandelier, along with hanging mason jars, a picture frame, a birdcage, and an old rustic door to set the scene! We added some flowers to complete the look. We envisioned a scene that any bride will be able to create for her big day!
