Q. How did you meet?
A. Our families have known each other for about 15 years now, our parents played together on the church softball team. The two of us didn’t meet until 2012 – when you’re 12 and 14 two years is a huge difference, and then he moved to Reno, went to school in Reno, and when he moved back we finally met 🙂 We officially met in his parent’s backyard (where we’ll now be getting married!) at his grandpa’s 80th surprise party.
Q. How did he propose?
A. He proposed in Yosemite, after climbing to the top. We had been planning to climb it for months since you have to apply for permits, little did I know it was all a part of a larger plan! We left camp at 5am and 13 hours later we’d made it to the top of the mountain and was completely surprised – and the exhausting day was all suddenly worth it 🙂
Q. Name 3 things you like about your fiancé:
A. He’s smart, funny, adventurous, he challenges me, pushes me to try new things, he’s easy on the eyes…sorry, that was more than 3!
Q. Aside from his proposal, what is your favorite memory together?
A. The first time we went on a trip (more than just a quick weekend getaway). We went to Bass Lake in the middle of winter so there wasn’t many people around, we built snowmen and went sledding, took a day trip into Yosemite, and I realized I was in love with him.
Q. What is your favorite music and/or songs that mean the most to you as a couple?
A. Singer/songwriter – Amos Lee, Matt Kearney, Jack Johnson. Also Matt won’t admit it but he loves Taylor Swift ;).
No worries Matt, Michael likes Taylor too.

Lovely! I don’t even know these people but the photographs made me think I was at the wedding. What wonderful memories. Best to them and thank you for sharing publically. There is lots of good, joy and beauty all around us and you captured that in these photos.
