Snap, Laugh, and Love: A Hilariously Comprehensive Guide to Capturing the Most Glorious Bridal Prep Photos on Your Big Day

Your big day is fast approaching, and you’re determined to capture every precious moment, from the tearful exchange of vows to the laughter-infused reception dance floor. But let’s not forget about the oh-so-important pre-ceremony bridal prep moments! That’s right, it’s time to get your bridal squad ready for their close-up, as you capture the memories of getting ready for your walk down the aisle.

Here, we present you with a relatable and informative guide on how to achieve the best bridal prep photos on your wedding day. Hold onto your curlers and mascara wands, and let’s dive in!

Choose the Perfect Setting

Your bridal prep space should be well-lit, comfortable, and spacious enough for you and your bridal party to primp and prep without feeling cramped. A large room with plenty of natural light will make your photographer’s job much easier and ensure that your photos turn out stunning.

De-Clutter and Organize

We get it—getting ready for the biggest day of your life can lead to some chaos. However, a cluttered space can detract from the beauty of your photos. Before your photographer arrives, take a few moments to organize and tidy up the room. Hide any unnecessary items, make the beds, and keep the area looking fresh and clean.

Weddings can be bold, beautiful, and memorable. We have photographed so many weddings in Santa Clarita located right in the heart of Valencia. Hannah looked stunning while she was getting ready at The Hyatt right in the center of town. For this photo, we took her lovely veil and placed it in front of the camera. By adding a bit of motion, we were able to capture the bride’s face and expression. The window lights at The Hyatt are some of my favorites and allow for gorgeous light on our subjects. A quick tip for anyone getting ready at the Hyatt in Valencia. Ask for the corner suite on a high floor. That will allow you to have beautiful light on your face as you get ready for your wedding. The unique furniture and depth of the room always provide beautiful photos for our brides. The best part is that we are able to capture pretty getting-ready photos prior to your ceremony at The Rose Garden. The Hyatt is known to be the center of Valencia, California. In addition to the beautiful light in the rooms, the sun reflects off the building to give beautiful Golden Hour Photos.

Capture the Details

The small details of your wedding day often hold the most sentimental value. Have your photographer snap photos of your wedding dress on a beautiful hanger, your shoes, jewelry, and any special accessories or keepsakes. These shots will serve as lovely reminders of the intricate details that made your day so special.

Document the Getting Ready Process

Don’t just focus on the end result—capture the entire journey of getting ready! Snap candid shots of you and your bridesmaids laughing, sharing memories, and bonding over mimosas. Capture the excitement as you get your hair and makeup done, the anticipation in your eyes as you glance at your reflection, and the joyful tears as your mother or friends help you into your dress. These authentic moments will evoke a flood of emotions when you look back at your album in the years to come.

Include Your Furriest Family Members

If you’re a pet lover, including your furry friend in your bridal prep photos can add an adorable touch. Just imagine your beloved cat or dog lounging beside you as you get your makeup done, or your pup sporting a cute bow tie or floral collar. These photos will not only be heartwarming but will also capture the love you share with your pet on this special day.

Coordinate with Your Photographer

Make sure you and your photographer are on the same page when it comes to your vision for your bridal prep photos. Discuss the specific shots you’d like to capture, and allow your photographer to offer their creative input. Remember, they’re professionals, and they’ll have invaluable insights on how to achieve the perfect shots.

Have Fun and Stay Relaxed

Your bridal prep photos should reflect the joy and excitement you feel on your wedding day, so remember to have fun and stay relaxed. Embrace the chaos, laugh at the unexpected, and don’t sweat the small stuff. Your photographer will be able to capture the true essence of the moment, so long as you’re genuinely enjoying yourself.

The Newhall Mansion in Piru has a gorgeous bridal suite for getting ready images. It features a lot of great space, and beautiful light! We love being able to bring everyone together and create fun, genuine memories during the getting ready part of our couples’ wedding day.

In conclusion, capturing the best bridal prep photos on your wedding day is all about embracing the moment, focusing on the details, and surrounding yourself with love and laughter. Follow these tips, and you’ll be well on your way to creating a stunning visual story of the moments leading up to your walk down the aisle. Remember, your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and these photos will serve as cherished keepsakes for years to come.

So, gather your squad, pop the bubbly, and get ready to create unforgettable memories. With a little preparation and a whole lot of laughter, your bridal prep photos will capture the love, excitement, and anticipation that make your wedding day truly special. Now, go forth and let the pampering begin!
