Malibu has been a place that has been depicted in movies and television for many years. During this wedding shoot we took the bride who had a beautiful Cape down to the beach. once we made it down there we ask her to step up onto this rock and we placed opposing lights on either side of her, allowing us to create three-dimensionality that you cannot get with just natural light alone. The sky on the day of the shoot had beautiful clouds, and the ambient light was a warm golden tinge...by adding a little bit of motion into her cave, we were able to create the illusion that the wind was blowing as his bride was walking up the rock to get a better view of something in the distance. Telling great stories is the key to making great art. They both go hand-in-hand, and you can't have one without the other. In order to be a great photographer, you must have three skills the ability to manipulate light, the ability to craft a perfect composition, and ability to tell an amazing story...For those getting married in Malibu, there are plenty of different venues to choose from, but some of our favorites are Calamigos Ranch, and Duke's Malibu. 1/250; f/9.0; ISO 50; 12.0 mm.
