Los Angeles Wedding Venues
The Carondelet House is an Italian-villa inspired building based in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. This venue is perfect for anyone who describes their wedding as intimate. The beautiful candlelit ceremony hall provides the perfect space for weddings at any time of year. The brick architecture of the outdoor facade provides the perfect backdrop for wedding portraits at any time of day. The venue is 7600 square feet and has two different courtyards for smaller weddings.
The Carondelet house has been featured in a variety of different publications and has been the setting for many LA weddings since it was built in 1928 as a private residence. The venue features a bridal suite, hardwood floors, and gorgeous exposed bricks both indoors and outdoors. The style is very gatsby-esque with beautiful accents on the walls.
One of the concerns with most Downtown Los Angeles Wedding venues is parking. Parking at the Carondelet House should be of no concern. With over 900 parking spaces within a short walk from the venue, your guests will be able to find parking anywhere they go.
The venue can hold a maximum of 300 people despite it’s smaller size, and can accommodate 150 people sitting down for the ceremony portion of the day. The venue is inclusive and will include different chair and table options when booking it. One of our favorite places to shoot is the front foyer where there is a beautiful grand piano and mosaic tiles on the ceiling. The beautiful archways are the perfect setting for a bride and groom that want amazing photos.
Catering & Included Items
Catering is in-house, which makes it a great place to be married at a relatively affordable price considering that Tres LA is one of the premier Los Angeles event caterers. The venue is separated by different rooms, as was common among architecture built in the early 20th century. If you are having a larger wedding, it could be a little cramped. However, if your guest list is under 125 people you will find that the Carondelet House is a great place to say “I Do.”
The venue allows for extended hours up until 1:00 in the morning for those that like to party late!
Keep in mind that this venue is primarily indoors with low lighting. Good photos will require that your LA Wedding Photographer be skilled in their use of off-camera flash or constant light to get good photos at this particular venue. In order to obtain great photos here, it’s essential that your photographer not rely on natural light. The overhead lighting is tungsten, and depending on the time of year that you get married, you may have daylight coming in through the windows. The combination of the two is not flattering on skin tones. This can be alleviated easily by adding some flash, which should be used off-camera. Other than that we recommend visiting Downtown Los Angeles in between your bridal prep and ceremony to have a variety of different types of photos. This is not necessary but it’s a good idea being that everything is so close together!
