We are very seldom presented with the opportunity to create breathtaking portraits such as this one as wedding photographers. This is because an image of this kind needs nearly thirty seconds per exposure to get it right. Weddings usually don't have a lot of spare time, so we make sure to pad our timelines with our couples in order to have time to create images like this.
In order to create this, we take a long exposure on a tripod and utilize Lighting on the subject in order to eliminate them. This allows us to create an exposure that features the Milky Way but still is able to expose for our couple underneath. Despite what many people think, this image was not created in Photoshop however it was created in-camera.
