Destination weddings in Cancun are some of our favorites to photograph. This particular one took place at the Hyatt Ziva in Cancun down on the tip of the peninsula. After a long day of shooting, we headed out to the beach to photograph the couple on the rocks by the lighthouse. We were met with a beautiful sunset just as lights from the lighthouse had turned on... Working on getting significant Motion in the veil, we opted for a candid pose that helps tell the story of the couple walking out to the rocks at the end of the day to reflect on how beautiful their wedding turned out... When shooting destination weddings, there is a lot of planning that has to go into making it a successful event. The goal behind it has to be to handle the logistics smoothly, just as you would photographing a wedding at any local venue... For couples planning a destination wedding in Cancun, I highly recommend hiring a local planner that can assist with the decorations, and hiring your vendors such as your DJ, and Florist. However, when working in a foreign country, it is not a bad idea to bring your photographer along. You only get one opportunity to take beautiful pictures, so it makes sense to find the perfect photographer to capture your day. 1/40; f/4.0; ISO 800; 12.0 mm.
