Also known as the Los Angeles Cathedral, this downtown Los Angeles wedding venue was opened in 2002. It’s the mother church for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and features postmodern architecture as well as deconstructivist and modernist design. The cathedral is known for housing the relics of Saint Vibiana and tilma piece of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Designed by architect Rafael Moneo, the Los Angeles Cathedral design embraces acute and obtuse angles and avoids right angles.
The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels property covers an area of over 5 acres and is surrounded by Temple Street, Grand Avenue, Hill Street, and the Hollywood Freeway (US Route 101).
The building can accommodate over 3,000 worshipers so you can feel comfortable inviting everyone you and your fiancé have ever met in your wedding ceremony. The Los Angeles Cathedral complex is over 58,000 square feet and is the second largest Catholic church in the United States.
The sanctuary, where you wedding can be held, is 333 feet long so there is ample room for your processional if you are hosting a large wedding party.
