Our job does not stop when we put our camera’s back into our bag. Michael Anthony Photography uses the latest technological software in order to bring the most out of our images. We have spent many hours learning techniques that will enhance our pictures to their fullest potential. Again, it is important that you speak with us regarding the style you are looking for. We can make wedding photos look high fashion, vintage, or just give them some “pop.”
When we get your images out of our camera, they are in a digital negative format, similar to film on a camera, they cannot just be opened on a computer. First we have to cull down the best images from our shoot (no one wants blinky pictures). Next, we process the images to recover highlights, adjust the colors, fix the white balance, increase or decrease the contrast, clarity, and also fix distortion that is caused by the natural curvature of lens glass. We then sharpen, reduce or add noise if needed, and crop if needed as well. Finally we can either add a simple creative color touch, fix vignette, and finalize the image for opening on a normal computer.
Once we are done with color correction, we then open your images in professional image editing software (we use the latest version of Photoshop). Using a specific graphics tablet, we edit out blemishes, stray hairs, background elements. We will sometimes smooth out the gradations in the skin depending on the circumstances. This is where we add our final touches to the images, lightening or darkening shadows or highlights, adding selective black and white coloring (if requested), or even overlaying textures or graphics.
